“There was an assortment of costumes ready for each show. Freddie would just say which ones he wanted during the audio check so they could be finished and ready for the show.

The rule of thumb was: the bigger the room – the lighter the color of the costume.

Freddie liked big stages because he spent a lot of time wearing white. These clothes caught the light and made it visible to most spectators. Usually, if it was a smaller room, he would go for black.”.
