9 July 1986, Queen performed a Completely SOLD-OUT show at St. James Park, Newcastle, UK
“Magic Tour”

All 38,000 tickets for this show sold out in an hour, setting an attendance record in Newcastle at the time. Impressive! The profits went to the local Save The Children fund.

“Freddie was always a rock star. He really was, that’s the funny thing. He was a very shy boy, very insecure, came from a very strict public school upbringing … And his reaction to that was to go completely the other way, completely outrageous, and build a character around himself which he inhabited. I regard Freddie as a completely self-made man: He had his vision, his dream and he constructed everything about his life to make it happen. And we were part of this whole journey.”
