2 October 1980 – Queen returned to UK at end of USA leg of The Game Tour.

Queen ended their North American ‘Game Tour’ with a bang, they sold-out three solid evenings at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York.

It was once a venue they dreamed of headlining – and now they were selling our three nights!

Those concerts signaled the end of the longest tour the band had yet undertaken, a staggering forty-six gigs in all – every one of which was sold-out!

Queen took a well-deserved holiday for most of October, then set to work on completing the Flash Gordon soundtrack at Anvil Studios in London. They decided the first and only single from the soundtrack album would be ‘Flash.’

The band would commence the second (European) leg of the ‘Game Tour’ in Zurich late November 1980.
