17/18 October 1981, Queen performed at Estadio Olimpico de beisbol Ignacio Zaragoza, Puebla, Mexico 🇲🇽
Queen would recall this concert to be one of their worst experiences, not least because various objects and shoes were thrown at them throughout much of the show. John Deacon was hit in the head with a boot! (He brought a football helmet to the next gig) Since it was so overcrowded, at some point during the show people ended up tearing down the gate into the venue. In some parts of the stadium the tiers collapsed and many people were seriously injured, breaking arms and legs.
Pictured: Freddie and Roger with a bolt that was thrown on stage. Peter Freestone took it home as a souvenir.
