I don’t give a damn about critics, to be honest. The backing of the press is important only at the beginning of a career as a rock musician. When success arrives, it’s the fans who decide on whether it’s to be, or not to be… I can stand fair criticism, but I like to feel that somebody has listened to the album and done their homework. If you just go and say, “Glam Rock, crap” and just generalise everything and say that they’re just cashing in on the scene, I say forget it. Some people think that all we do copy rock and we can only do one sort of style, which is crap. I feel sorry for certain journalists who are very narrow minded in thinking that way, because all they have to do is delve a bit deeper to find out what the band is all about, rather than listen to an album once or go to just one gig…. In the end, I think the music speaks for itself.
